Our Instructors

    Dr. Baker Wright, BCBA–D

    Dr. Wright is currently the Team Leader and Owner of Behavior Management Consultants, having received the leadership role from his mentor, Dr. Maxin Reiss in 2015. Baker has been with BMC since 2000 and received his PhD from The Florida State University under the direction and guidance of Dr. Jon Bailey. Dr. Wright’s clinical experience ranges from work with individuals of ages across the lifespan with challenges associated with Autism and other developmental disabilities, and those with other exceptional behavior challenges. This includes work in residential facilities, schools, family homes, and supported and independent living arrangements for adults. In addition to the leadership of the BMC team across Florida and South Georgia, Dr. Wright continues to work as a behavior analyst and consultant in school districts across the Southeast.

    Dr. Mary Riordan, BCBA–D

    Dr. Mary Riordan received her doctorate from Florida State University in 1990, and has been a critical member and leader of the BMC team since 1981. Dr. Riordan was one of the initial Board Certified Behavior Analysts when the certification began in 2000. She has worked for over 40 years providing behavior analysis services in community settings, residential facilities, skilled nursing facilities, medical hospitals and schools. Her work has involved designing and implementing behavioral intervention plans to reduce dangerous behaviors and teach functional skills, developing treatment programs staff training and developing treatment systems for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness. She is presently the Director of Adult and Residential Services for BMC where she oversees the treatment of individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness in a variety of settings. Even with her extensive experience, Dr. Riordan still maintains consistent direct work with individuals across the state of Florida and Georgia.
    Throughout her career Dr. Riordan has worked to improve laws and regulations regarding the practice of behavior analysis so quality services are available to all individuals who need them. She is Past President of the Florida Association for Behavior Analysts and Association of Professional Behavior Analysts. Currently she serves as the Public Policy Co–Chair for the Florida Association of Behavior Analysis, a member of Florida’s Behavior Analysis Practice Committee, and on the Behavior Analysis Local Review Committee. Dr. Riordan is a treasure to the field of behavior analysis and to the BMC team.

    Becky Cassell, BCBA

    Ms. Cassell is currently the Director of Staff Development and Supervision for Behavior Management Consultants. She has been with BMC since 2011 and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst since 2013 following her completion of the Masters program in ABA at the Florida State University. A majority of her work is with adults in supported living, group home and residential ICF facilities and parent consultation for children of all ages and ranges of disabilities and behavioral challenges, in addition to her supervision of RBT and BCABA members of the BMC team. She enjoys her work on these teams training direct care staff and working closely with other providers, psychiatry and physicians to attain the best outcomes for each individual served.

    Julie Steward, BCBA

    Ms. Steward is a long–standing member of the senior team of Behavior Analysts at BMC, having been working on our team for over 20 years. Earlier in her career, Ms. Steward was an experienced and valuable consultant in school settings, especially for students in self–contained classrooms for exceptional behavioral and learning needs, and also specialized schools for students with significant behavior challenges. Ms. Steward also has an extensive history of work with adults in residential and home settings, which she has done since the beginning of her career. Ms. Steward is also a trained and licensed Clinical Social worker.

    Jay Kendrick, BCBA

    Mr. Kendrick is a senior team member who has been with BMC since 2010, achieving his BCBA in 2012. Jay brings a wide variety of skills as a trainer, with a lot of experience as a school district consultant across North Florida and South Georgia and a range of experience with adults in residential and home settings. More recently, Mr. Kendrick developed and produced “Now I...Play” an assessment tool and iBook which includes over 50 classic card and board games, broken down into various skills and skill levels so individuals of all ages and ability levels can enjoy and learn these important leisure skills.

    Jeanne Brower, BCBA

    Ms. Brower is a long–standing senior member of the BMC team and is the area and clinical director in BMC’s South Florida/Treasure Coast team. Jeanne’s work with BMC spans almost 30 years, having been Board Certified since 2001. Jeanne’s extensive work experience includes work at Florida State Hospital, work in a variety of ICF programs, behavior consultant across a variety of school districts across the country, and instructor/trainer roles in the areas of behavior analysis, developmental disabilities and Autism. Ms. Brower has over 30 years of presentations and trainings conducted at state-wide and international conferences for behavior analysis.

    Dr. Steve Coleman, BCBA–D

    Dr. Coleman has worked as a behavior analyst in many areas, but most notably as the State of Florida Behavior Analyst for the Agency for Persons with Disabilities. Dr. Coleman is now a BMC consultant in a variety of settings including individual homes, behavior focus group homes and Intermediate Care Facilities.
